Lakaesha Elliott-Reed

"Nurse Reed" is not only a strong educator and AHA Instructor, but she is also a compassionate, ambitious, patient-focused Registered Nurse, dedicated to the growth and development of those desiring quality care along with guidance, encompassed with education and wellness.

She holds dear this one quote that combines both of her professions as a Nurse and as an Educator, “One must be Healthy to be educated and educated to be Healthy.”

Lakaesha Elliott-Reed, is a devoted mother of five, a wife of a Marine, and the only child of two retired educators, with her father being a retired Marine. She is a Registered Nurse, Educator, and AHA Instructor, who received her BSN from the University of Texas Health Science Center Cizik School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Mathematics and Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown.

In 2016 & 2017, Lakaesha suffered two strokes, and by God's Grace, she overcame the lingering deficits. Prior to transitioning into the field of nursing in 2017, Nurse Reed, was an Educator for 12 years. As an educator she produced and presented professional developments, she was a Mathematics Education Consultant, a Middle School Mathematics Teacher, a Student Success/Mathematics Interventionist, a Mathematics Coach, and a Mathematics Department Chair. In every role as an educator, she mentored students and staff, trained first year and/or struggling teachers, and coordinated programs geared towards working with below grade level students. She, is still certified in the state of Texas as a Highly Qualified Educator in Mathematics, ESL, and as a Generalist. Although she is highly skilled in Mathematics, her focus has always been the whole person along with other life skills that will help contribute to their growth and development. As a classroom teacher, her belief was every person learns differently and her motto is, “You may go home one way, and I may go to your house a totally different way, but as long as we make it to the same destination safely, we have accomplished the goal.”

Nurse Reed’s extensive background in education, integrated with her faith, and considerable experience working with those who suffer with mental health and substance abuse issues, has afforded her opportunities to help individuals, families and organizations understand the importance of guidance, education, and wellness. She firmly believes in Helping Outstanding People Evolve and teaching them how to develop positive proactive solutions to live life holistically.
